Golden Globes: Best Looks of 2014
In today’s Blog we’d like to showcase what we believed to be the best looks of Sunday’s Golden Globes Red Carpet Walk. Without a doubt the ladies were beautiful and glamorous as always. We could spend days, if not weeks describing the ladies; who they wore, their hair, the jewelry…you get the picture. Instead, in this instance, I like the road less travelled and that’s where we discuss our favorite looks of the men.
1. (Tied) Bradley Cooper
Bradley never disappoints and tonight was no exception. He looks polished and picture perfect in Tom Ford as he prepared to learn the outcome of his nomination in the Supporting Actor category. The entire look is vintage Hollywood.
1. (Tied) Usher
Usher is another gentleman that really knows how to create the perfect sophisticated and debonair look that always sets him apart from his contemporaries. I appreciate his modern and classic look in the Calvin Klein Oxblood wool tuxedo with stylish label pin. The look was a nice departure from the traditional back and white ensemble and speaks to his fun- edginess.
2. Leonardo DiCaprio
Last year he set the stage for the Gatsby look; this year he continues to trail-blaze as a nominee in the coveted Leading Actor Category. His look was classic but somewhat daring as he too decided less is more and opted not to wear the traditional cummerbund. As always, his look was classic for the evening.
3. Sean Combs
The amazing style icon once again delivers in his look also created by the amazing Tom Ford. Sean Combs definitely looks like the Mogul that he is, but I love his relaxed take charge look even on the Golden Globe Red Carpet. He always gets heads to turn as he looks extremely dapper. Please note the oversized bow-tie. Love it!
4. Idris Elba
This has been quite a busy year for the actor and I have enjoyed all of his Red Carpet looks. Deciding not to wear a tie of any sort actually worked for him. I’m sure we all agree that not many men could look this stylish in a tuxedo, especially at the Golden Globe Awards. However, I think that because it’s Idris Elba in Gucci, that he confidently knows how to pull off the look.
5. Matthew McConaughey
Not only did he wear Velvet, but he wore green velvet thanks to Dolce & Gabbana. Yes, Matthew McConaughey demonstrated that he knows how to push the envelope. This color is one of the popular colors this season, so though it’s risky, it can work if the person donning the tuxedo knows what they’re doing. We think it looked incredible which is why he made the list. This proved to be another Golden Globe winning look .
Well, we hope you agreed with our picks! If not, cast your vote for best dressed at the Academy Awards Red Carpet Oscar event in February. Not only will we be prepared to choose our best Oscar looks, but we’ll even share our opinion at the Grammy’s as well. Join us for all of the award season fun as we check out the celebrations with you. Thanks for visiting Style & Travel Daily. Until next time Stay Amazingly Stylish…
